Vengeance of the Law The Fiddler bushranger’s capture and demise
James Bosworth known as The Fiddler roamed New South Wales escapees and lawmen pursued him from Bungonia to Goulburn. In December 1839 he hid in Gibraltar near Bungendore with food and ammunition. A siege by Lieut. Christie ended when an exchange of fire left The Fiddler fatally shot in the cave, marking the brutal pursuit of a notorious convict.
