Army authorities announced that men in Class 5, aged 45 to 60, will not be called up for military service except in a few cases. A separate note mentions household cleaning hacks using vinegar and salt to clean glass, remove stains from china, and ink from fingers.

Councilor Cameron of Manning Shire argues that headlamp masks on country roads hinder night driving and suggest allowing brighter lights or lighter shades. The discussion notes taxi trips between Winehat and Woodside, with calls to lift masking and improve visibility. The motion to seek relief for night travellers passes.
