Tenders due Wednesday May 6 1948 for impounding stray stock within ten miles of Gloucester Post Office. Remuneration 5 shillings per head impounded plus driving fees and 5 shillings 2 pence per day for saddle horse. Also notices of cricket ball postponement and hospital job applications from various parties.
Garners Pty. Ltd seeks a competent man for the grocery department and two young ladies aged 15 to 16 to assist. Positions imply entry level roles in the grocery shop with duties in stocking, customer service, and checkout tasks. Applications urged from interested local residents.
At the Gloucester Pastures Protection Board meeting debate over appointing a rabbit inspector continued with calls for applications. Directors debated urgency and fairness, noting absent members and urging action to administer the act and assist landholders in keeping properties rabbit free.
