Gloucester Shire Council approves road and relief works plan
Gloucester Shire Council held a full meeting with Dr. A J White presiding. The finance report outlined payments across General Local Water Trust and Main Roads funds totaling several hundred pounds and an allotment of grants for multiple road causeways. The council discussed unemployment relief works, emergency relief schemes, and planned road maintenance, corduroy drainage, and fencing projects. The meeting covered insurance needs for pump houses, the Upper Avon Road project, and a proposed tree planting for King’s Silver Jubilee with church street resurfacing and grandstand completion noted. A proposal to adjust Leman's Plat roads for better showground access was debated, with plans to involve the Lands Department and potential survey costs.
