Frenchmen Complete Hazelton to Telegraph Creek Trek in 22 Days

Messrs Maluin and Malassigne, two Frenchmen, walked from Hazelton to Telegraph Creek with packs on their backs in 22 days covering about 425 miles. They spoke with 34 outfits on the trail, reported a trail in poor condition, and noted the route varies from maps. They encountered relief parties carrying food and warned against unfounded trail hype while highlighting limited ore prospects and growing Yukon gold interest.

The Majestic Stikine Americans Side Discovery

A valuable vein of gold bearing quartz was found about fourteen miles up the Stikine River on the American side. Claims have been taken by owners who believe the property is valuable. The discoverer, who claimed first discovery and choice, spoke to a Newsman in the city last week.

Man Injures Himself After Cliff Fall Near Canyon

While prospecting near the canyon, Connor fell forty feet off a cliff as he neared the edge. He clutched bushes in vain and was left injured. Strickland and Barlee returned with help to transport him to Glenora for treatment. Clearihue's pack train completed its fourth Teslin trip of the season.

Man Drowns After Mistaken Rope Tangle at Stikine Rapids

John Brown 38 or 40, a Telegraph resident employed by J F Callbreath in Glenora, drowned Monday afternoon at rapids near McKenzie Mann Co's warehouse. He had been towing gear from a recent drowning victim, and pulled the wrong rope in the swift current, causing his boat to capsize while attempting to reach shore. Local police officials had been aboard his return trip, and his body was not recovered.

Cattle Herd Moves From Ashcroft Trail to Teslin and Selkirk Route

Messrs. Boswell and Kendall arrived from the Ashcroft trail with a small herd. They plan to drive cattle to Teslin for butchering and then float them down on rafts toward Selkirk and Dawson.
