Double Ring Wedding in Glenboro United Church

The Glenboro United Church hosted the August 16 1969 wedding of Janice Isabel Margaret Wilton to Arnold Barry Hird. Rev George Millard presided and the couple planned a Banff West trip before settling in Winnipeg. Family members and attendants described in detail the attire and reception.

Wedding Shower and Rehearsal Dinner Held for Janice Wilton

A sequence of events marked the upcoming marriage of Miss Janice Wilton. A Winnipeg shower hosted by Mrs. H. L. Morrow and Mrs. Gilbert Wilton drew former Glenboro residents, with additional showers by Doreen Prouse and Clare Flammond. The Vital Statistics Staff hosted a dinner at Hip Steak Loft, and the United Church Women gave a community shower in the C E Building with many gifts. Mrs. Wilborg Wilton hosted a trousseau tea, and after the wedding rehearsal Mr. and Mrs. Frank Malyon held the bridal party at their home.

Miss Melody and Cheryl Redpath Visit Grandmother

Misses Melody and Cheryl Redpath of Mather returned home after a two week visit with their grandmother Mrs A Sutherland. Mrs Bob Kenyon Leslie Jane Alison and Clark of Winnipeg visited with Mrs A Sutherland recently. Sympathy is expressed to Garry Stephenson on the death of his father Frederic George Stephenson aged 55 at Glenboro Hospital on August 27. The funeral.

Local Service Held From Stockton United Church

A service was held from Stockton United Church to Millford Cemetery on Saturday August 30 at 2 30 p m. Mr and Mrs Terry Gray of Winnipeg spent the long weekend at the home of Mr and Mrs Milt Budd. They also visited Miss Elaine Budd of Glenboro and other friends and relatives while home. Miss Irene McKenzie returned to Winnipeg Sunday after spending the past couple of months with her niece and family. Mr and Mrs Tom Russell and Jim Miss Charlene Smith of Vancouver visited with Mr and Mrs Tom Russell last week.

Ronnie Gowanlock and Dirk Northey returned by air from visiting relatives in Brentwood Bay B C while Cheryl Dowd from Winnipeg prepares to start Nurses' Training at Victoria Hospital. Debbie and Charline Berry of Brandon vacation with grandparents Bill and Mrs Wilton. On Aug 27 relatives gathered for Mrs George Drinkwater's 87th birthday with a patio dinner and cake. Dennis Wallace and Walter Drinkwater families hosted a Winnipeg weekend visit after August 15.
