Holland and Glenboro seed clubs held at Killarney on November 17 showcased top prizes for Titan Bailey Wallace McTaggart and Martin Vertz from Glenboro with soil erosion display also placing. Holland club with Rocket Flax won first prize with Don Sanderson and others took multiple awards. Glenboro’s Doug Elliott excelled in dressed cockerel capon and cabbage. Shortage of grain and produce noted amid strong turnout.

Gary Turnbull Dies of Incurable Disease
Three year old Gary Turnbull of 482 Washington Ave died of cirrhosis of the liver described as very rare in children by Mayo Clinic specialists in Rochester. The East Kildonan Kiwanis gave him a Christmas celebration with gifts and a decorated tree. He was survived by his parents and his seventeen year old neighbor Billy Palmer who shared in the boy’s Christmas joy. A children's funeral will be held at St. Alphonsus Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery Barker's Funeral Chapel in charge.
