21st Annual Lady Sahara Bonspiel Begins At Glenboro Curling Club

The Glenboro Curling Club hosts the 21st Sahara Bonspiel with 16 rinks from Westman and central Manitoba. Draws start Friday at 4:00 p.m. November 10 with ceremonies Saturday and a $1055 purse distributed among top finishers.

Glenboro breeder nets first in Manitoba Superhorse futurity

Blain's Bend Quarterhorses owners Bob and Ellen Blain saw a horse they bred win first prize at the Manitoba Superhorse 50 50 Sale and Futurity in Brandon. BNE Beans Sonny Bar earned 6516 dollars, with Blain noting continued success from his farm and predicting up to 11000 dollar purses in 1997. The event funds breeders and operates under a 5 percent breeder award and 5 percent admin split while showcasing Manitoba riding horses.
