Remembrance Day Services Held in Glenboro and Cypress River
Remembrance Day services were conducted at the United Church in Glenboro with Rev. T Bailey officiating. Local Legion members laid wreaths at the cenotaph after a combined choir led readings prayers and hymns. Cypress River heard Rev A Veldhuis as guest speaker with colors advanced by Bill Shepherd and Cliff Knight and floral tributes from Legion members and the Ladies Auxiliary.

Glenboro council held its November 7 1973 meeting with all members present. Oaths of office were taken before the meeting. J P Horton was appointed to the Glenboro Rink Committee for 1973. E J Davidson named chairman of Finance Welfare and Police for balance of 1973. E Ehnes named Deputy Mayor for balance of 1973. Mayor and Sec Treasurer appointed signing officers with Deputy Mayor authorized to sign in the Mayor's absence. Davidson appointed to Cypress District Planning Commission for 1973. Village supported amalgamation of Hospital and Hostel Boards.

About 45 Kiwanians and guests gathered at the United Church CE Building for Kiwanis International Farm City week. Dr. Hugh Best spoke on Rabies. Brandon and West Kildonan attendees joined in. Vic Stinson elected Vice. Budget items noted include grants and tax land purchases. Tiger Hills trustees held inaugural 1973 74 meeting with oath of office. Regular board meetings set for 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 8 pm.

Golden Wedding Anniversary Celebrated by Northeys at Glenboro
Mr and Mrs Ted Northey of Glenboro Manitoba marked their 50th wedding anniversary on November 11 1973. They married in Beaconsfield on November 12 1923 and farmed in Somerset then Glenboro area before retiring in 1952. They have three children eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren a reception and family dinners were held with congratulatory messages from prominent politicians and telegrams from distant towns. Out of town guests arrived from multiple cities.
