The Annual Meeting will be held at the s Hotel Glenboro on Thursday December rth at 2 30 pm. All members are requested to attend. JAS LOCKHART president and W W DOUGLAS secretary.
Portage la Prairie opened the Jury Assizes on the 7th with jurors Jas Hamilton Harry Leater William Thompson and H Haskell chosen. The Lalonde case draws heavy witness lists as Solicitor-General Meighen and F H Mitchell defend, Hastings for the Crown. The trial began with the true bill by the Grand Jury and one witness examined as the court adjourned.
Local notes recount visits and short trips by residents including Mr. Percy McNicol and Mr. Jack Dale, upcoming Glenboro council on November 18, and a Bruce bye election won by the Liberal candidate by 124 votes. Also noted are market statements on fur tailoring, church events, a death in Carberry, orchard and farm discussions, and Grain Growers lectures criticizing tariffs and elevator monopolies.
