Cypress River Craft Sale planned with booked tables

Cypress River hosts a weekend craft sale on November 15 with many crafters from local towns. Organizers note returnees and a wide range of items from dried flower arrangements to wood work, soaps, chocolates, sewing and knitting. New exhibitors include ceramics and wildlife crafts from Boissevain and Glenboro exhibitors.

Gazette edition delayed one day due to Remembrance Day

This week’s Gazette reached post offices a day late because of the November 11 Remembrance Day holiday. The November 18 Wide Circulation edition will reach 1600 box holders in the area, offering a larger consumer market for advertising.

Glenboro Handivan Arrives with Community Support

A new 14 seat handivan for Glenboro arrives on November 6 1997 funded by community donations and public grants. The van serves ambulatory and wheelchair passengers with booking rules contact Lynn Asham and pricing including in town and out of town rates and passes.

Len Udow brings musical workshop to Glenboro students

Len Udow, songwriter and performer from Fred Penner's act, spent a week working with Glenboro School grade 1-5 students. Funded by Manitoba Arts Council and other Canada programs the sessions aim to boost confidence and creativity as students write lyrics and perform with homemade instruments and Dr Rhythm. A final informal concert for teachers and parents capped the week.
