Lady Sahara Bonspiel Opens Friday in Glenboro
The eighth annual Lady Sahara Invitational Bonspiel starts Friday at 4 00 p m with sixteen rinks. A new champion will be crowned Sunday at 3 30 p m after three events determine the Championship. Community events include a smorgasbord Calcutta social evening and a dance.

Tiger Hills Band Festival Produces Top Awards For Glenboro Students
The Tiger Hills Band Festival showcased strong student performances over Thursday and Friday with Glenboro School earning the Tiger Hills Music Office trophy for most points. Grade VII and VIII won the Barker trophy, Tracy Leader claimed the Harry Remple Memorial solo prize, and teachers note positive work on the Grade Ten Work Experience Day.

South Central Turf Club Hosts Community Dinner November 4
At Glenboro Kinsmen Hall the South Central Turf Club held a roast beef dinner for over two hundred volunteers from the August harness racing meet. Gerald Rutherford presented refunds to Rebekah Lodge Patricia Ladies Aid and Minor Sports from concession revenue. An evening of entertainment followed with Allan Greer as MC and performances by the Old Time Band Gloria Russell and the Plohman family among others. The 1982 Race Meet closing balance exceeded 14000 dollars.
