Drought Aid From Manitoba Communities to Saskatchewan Relief
An open letter recalls the Wawanesa area drive aiding drought victims in Saskatchewan. Collectors from Wawanesa Nesbitt Treesbank Brandon Hills Glenboro Baldur Belmont and Hilton raised 2500 plus in cash and loaded a semi truck with vegetables groceries and clothing destined for Ormiston Saskatchewan on October 25. Volunteers from Farm Women's Action welcomed the relief, with donations continuing to fund food fuel and hampers for distribution to distribution points.

4 H Week in Manitoba Highlights Youth Projects
This week November 4–10 marks 4 H Week in Manitoba. 4 H clubs educate rural youth and adults in agriculture and home economics under the support of agricultural and business groups. The Glenboro club has 30 members working on foods crafts clothing adopt a grandparent mechanics woodworking and junior leader projects, with displays upcoming.

Mi an Itoba notes work at Achievement in early April and monthly club meetings. Pony Club has 8 members meeting twice monthly on horse care and Western Riding and alternates Achievements between Glenboro and Cypress River fairs. Beef Club reorganizes in November with about 15 members learning calf care and showing. Achievements and sales occur at the local fair each summer. Leaders volunteer to support 4-H youth across the community.

The Manitoba Great Western Harness Racing Circuit elected Henry Thornborough of Glenboro as President and Maurice Batters of Portage la Prairie as Vice President at the annual meeting in Holland. Glenboro Turf Club purchased the Manitoba Great Western Stake for 1986 for 4900 dollars and set race dates with Glenboro hosting the second weekend in August.

The Glenboro Health District board met October 30 1985 to settle MONA and CUPE contracts and adjust staffing. CUPE is settled with bonus days and bonus cheques issued. Mr Westwood attended a Winnipeg seminar on Organizational Renewal and Quality Assurance.

The Museumobile Caravan Atlantic Canada will tour in November. It will visit the School Parking Lot in Glenboro on November 12 and 13. The multi sensory exhibition is housed in three transport trailers and depicts a facet of Atlantic Canada’s natural and social history.
