The Hawkins Hustlers thank canvassers and donors for a prompt thorough effort. Total funds raised amount to 2317.25, about 260 more than last year, according to coordinator Maro Black.
A Glenboro merchants meeting on May 4 with Enterprise Development Centre officials discussed advertising hours tourism and small business support with plans for further study and a follow up meeting in three weeks. Vehicles damaged in a April 30 collision on Donald Street no injuries. Vandalism reported at Co op Store with investigations ongoing. Local residents and visitors attend graduations weddings and family visits in the Glenboro area. Sympathies sent to Elizabeth Ann Bell on her May 3 passing with funeral May 7 service in Glenboro United Church.
The Manitoba Heart Foundation thanks volunteers and residents for a February Heart Fund Drive that exceeded its goal of 818,700. Donations, including 1133.00 from Glenboro, support heart research and life saving work.
The annual Red Cross canvass nearly finished with a $750 raise of a $1450 target. Interprovincial Pipeline has donated in Glenboro and Community’s name, aiding the drive. Unaccounted contributors may still leave gifts at the Royal Bank, c o K Wooldridge acting treasurer.
The Senior Citizens' Writer's Workshop of Winnipeg hosts a New Horizons outreach variety concert in the third week of June 1981 in Glenboro as a regional event.
