Farewell Banquet Honors Guy S. Orde in Glenboro

A large Glenboro gathering honored Guy S. Orde, former Union Bank manager, with a farewell banquet before he departs for Winnipeg. Alfred Doig chaired. J O Hettle and J Carey delivered humorous and practical speeches on local legislature and mercantile, financial, and ladies’ interests. Orde received a gift suitcase amid a decorated scene and a fine menu by Host Gregg.

Cost of Growing Wheat per Acre in Brandon Experiment

The Brandon Experimental Farm reports 29 bushels per acre at a total cost of 7.76 dollars including all expenses and two years of rent or interest at 6 percent on land valued at 15 dollars per acre. Itemized costs cover ploughing harrowing cultivating seed drilling binding stocking stacking threshing hauling wear and tear and interest. Many farmers estimate seven dollars per acre as expenses.

The Oddfellows held a social with Mr and Mrs Jas Magger before their Coast departure. universal regret noted.
