Allen Wilford Promotes Farm Survival in Glenboro Meeting
Allen Wilford of Bruce County Ontario spoke at the Glenboro Kinsmen Community Hall to about two hundred attendees on March 26. He urged support for the Farmers Survival Association as a remedy to bankruptcies and foreclosures, outlined goals including passage of the Farmers and Creditors Arrangement Act, soil conservation, fair farm prices, and better farm credit, and called for grassroots action and letters to MPs and editors. Other speakers joined in discussing farm survival.

Rebekahs Celebrate 72nd Birthday and Gift to Personal Care Home
About one hundred Rebekahs Oddfellows and guests gathered March 28 to honor Rachel 29 on her 72nd birthday and to present a 3000 donation to the Personal Care Home Fund. The Mayor received the cheque for furnishings and a donor plaque, with Sister Joyce Wallis noting years of youth sponsorship and scholarships. The evening featured cake cutting, CBC tape, social whist, a Liz's Lovelies round dance, and a community lunch.

The Glenboro Spring Bonspiel wrapped Sunday March 27 with Wayne Richmond leading Cypress River to victory over Holland’s Laurie De Pape in the First Event final. Twenty four rinks competed over March 24 to 27 using Seagrams mixed rules. complete results list the top four in each event and the participant clubs Glenboro Cypress River Holland Wawanesa.

Trees for Canada Project Aims 10000 Trees This Spring
Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers across provinces and Northwest Territories plan to plant 10000 trees this Spring as part of the Trees for Canada Project. The effort raises funds to support Scouting locally and nationally, campsites, and international brotherhood programs for a better tomorrow.
