Local Skaters Present Centennial Ice Revue
The Glenboro Figure Skating Club staged a Centennial Ice Revue on March 7 in the Glenboro arena with 41 skaters and 3 guest artists from Brandon. The show featured imaginative themes Day at the Circus Candy Land Land of the Midnight Sun and Outer Space with a finale forming a 100 while candles were lit and Manitoba and Happy Birthday Manitoba sung.

Tiger Hills Music and Drama Fest Highlights

Greg Carels of Glenboro has won a 4H National Award. He will represent Manitoba as a delegate to the National 4-H Club Conference in Ottawa and Toronto in November 1970 for the Glenboro Seed Club calculations and honors.

Cypress River Ice Carnival crowns Vivian Arason and winners
The Cypress River Ice Carnival opened at 1 pm but heavy snow forced the evening program to be moved to Memorial Hall. Queen Vivian Arason was crowned by Margaret Anne Sigurdson as prizes and necklaces were awarded to Vivian and two princesses Sharon Sholdice and Joy Peterson. Costume judging crowned winners across age groups with many participants and judges named.

Seven entries from Glenboro Elementary competed in Brandon for the Western Manitoba Science Fair on March 6 and 7. Awards included two seconds, one third, and an honorable mention with students earning in horticulture, coal mining, milk display, solar system, electric motor, pioneer fort, drugs, and wheat topics.
