South African Teaches Skiing Misadventure at Asessippi
A South African recounts learning to ski at Asessippi with an Austrian instructor. After a first failed ascent on a moving handle lift and a fall that dislodged his skis, he borrows another pair, battles warm 3C weather, and struggles to reach the orange flag while avoiding collisions with advancing skiers. The piece captures the chaos and humor of a novice on a busy beginner day.
