Glenboro Defeats Decker-Kenton in Juvenile Playdowns

In frigid weather and slick roads over 400 fans watched Glenboro beat Decker-Kenton 11-1 and 17-5 in the juvenile playoff series, moving toward Swan River. Glenboro led 3-1 after the first period and rolled up six in the final frame. Ross Lalonde scored three for Glenboro, with Breckman, Bigelow, Marks totaling two goals each, and Parker earning four assists. Wayne Wilson scored for the Combines. penalties were charged to players from both sides.

If plans hold, the second game of a two game semi final playoff will be played Saturday at Glenbrooke at 8 30 p m The first game was set for Swan River on Thursday Fans are urged to attend and cheer for victory and good sportsmanship

Miss Mary Graham traveled to Hartney for her uncle C. E. Jasper's funeral last Friday and returned Monday. The community mourns Glenboro resident John Steel who died Tuesday March 1 and the Glenboro United Church funeral is set for Thursday at 2 30 p m with sympathy to Mrs Steel.

Last Friday Glenbo ro Kiwanians enjoyed film slides shown by Allan Fredriksson who served with the American Army in Korea. The weather note ponders March’s arrival with a roaring lion and predicts travel hardships from heavy snow until roads pack or thaw.

Jimmie Brogden Remains Hospitalized In Winnipeg

Mrs. R. Brogden and Jimmie traveled by bus to Winnipeg where Jimmie is a patient at Se Children's Hospital. His condition shows improvement though he is expected to stay three to seven weeks more. Ivan Rogers of Ethelton, Sask. visits Harold Jackson and Don Rogers homes. Jack McFadden planned a weeknd visit to the Brogden home.
