Glenboro Playground Story Through Kiwanis and Legion Efforts
A long running Glenboro playground began in 1951 when Legion Auxiliary members set up swings slides and a paddling pool near the church. In 1957 the site moved to Christie and Warwick after church land sale. The Kiwanis Club bought new two lots for 350 dollars and, with IPL help, built fences and equipment including a pool costing 665 dollars. The pool required 800 man hours and supervision by Kiwanis and later Kinsmen. A health department mandate in 1981 led to a pool filter system and transfer of supervision to the Kinsmen. The project continues with ongoing maintenance and summer use for local children.
