Manitoba 4 H Awards Trip Winners Named

Lakehead trip winners announced for seed club members August 2 to 6 with financing from Manitoba growers and clubs. Delegates include Gary Robinson Treherne Remi Tack Bruxelles and Glen Hamilton Glenboro. Urban Rural Youth Exchange to link rural and urban youth July 25 to Aug 8 with host families. open to non 4 H participants and ages 10 to 15.

Prairie farming notes on grain delivery rules and events

The Canadian Wheat Board outlines a new grain delivery basis allowing farmers to assign acres among six major grains. Farmers with permit books must return them by July 6 1971 and fill them by July 15. Holland-Somerset 4-H Rally kicks off July 7 with judging, demonstrations, parade, awards, and a dance. Canada imports U S breeding swine with cross bred pigs leading, followed by Durocs and Yorkshires. Fall planting of wheat may use plastic coated seed in five years to speed germination, with trials on cereals, corn, rapeseed, flax, and sunflowers.
