Manitoba Teachers Challenge Tiger Hills Board With Pilot Math
Kathy Dueck Georgina Greenlay and Glenboro School teachers presented a Pilot Math Program to the Tiger Hills School Division board. If adopted it would teach Grades 5 to 8 with emphasis on pattern problem solving data management geometry measurement number concepts and operations and algebra. Computers would be used in the course and implementation could begin by September. Greenlay posed sample problems as the board heard the presentation. The Liaison Committee of the board was authorized for follow up.

Donna and Leroy entertain in Glenboro
Agnes Witherspoon reports a June 21 Glenboro concert by Donna and Leroy Anderson. Backed by Peter Clark and Keith Hitchner, the duo sang favorites and Leroy’s originals, with his banjo picking drawing a standing ovation. The show, organized by the Community Hall Committee, ended with fan interactions.

Public meeting in Glenboro on June 22 explored condominium living led by developer Jack Goods of J.L. Valley Condo. He outlined 2 to 3 bedroom units with attached garages priced up to 90 000, shared water pump, private utilities, and monthly maintenance fees with as few as six units needed to start.

Fire truck purchased by Cypress River department
The Cypress River Fire Department bought a 1987 Ford 700 diesel truck for 23000 raised over three years from bingos and Nevada tickets. Fort Garry Industries installed new tanks and pumps at a municipality cost of 45000. The purchase was needed due to hydrant system needs.
