Centennial Steering Committee Reports Progress on 1980 Event
The Centennial Steering Committee met June 19 1979 at the Municipal Office with chair Skip Arason and members David East Barry Williams Tim Wallis and Gwen Jefferies. Volunteers are welcome and many days remain to join or pick a project for Glenborg 1980 Centennial celebrations. Local families are urged to help spread the word and recruit former residents who plan to join the festivities.

Brownies Finish Year With Camp Out at Pelican Lake
The First Glenboro Brownie Pack finished with seventeen members and activities like bake sales, an art gallery visit, Thinking Day parade, cookie sales, and a Mother and daughter banquet. Five girls advanced to Guides and eight Brownies enjoyed a cabin camping weekend at Pelican Lake earning Outdoor Adventure and Jester Badges.

Beavers Camp Out Ends Year at Spruce Woods Park
Eleven Beavers from Glenboro camped at Spruce Woods Park over the weekend ending the year’s activities. Equal number of parents joined overnight. Thanks to parents for cooking and supervision. Beavers held earlier wiener roast at Chickadee Land and a mid winter marshmallow roast with hay ride. Beavers resume in September for weekly meetings for boys ages 5 to 7.
