Glenboro Aims 12 Unit Senior Housing Project

The Glenboro and District Senior Citizens Home board discussed a proposed 12 unit elderly housing project to be built in 1970. Funding would come from an NH A mortgage provincial grant and local groups with total cost around 100000 dollars and local input of 28000 to 35000 dollars. Annual operating budget is 8000 dollars funded by unit rentals at 58.50 dollars per month. A public meeting is set for July 2 in the Rink Club Room at 7 p.m. Donations are welcomed.

Community honors retiring teacher Mrs Thornborough

Emma Thornborough was celebrated at a June 19 tea in Glenboro Elementary School as she nears retirement after sixteen years on staff. Former pupils from Patricia 1925 26 were introduced along with gifts from the community and School Board.

Rebekahs Honor Departed Members in Memorial Service

Rebekah lodge members gathered June 16 in L O O F Hall for a memorial service after the regular meeting. The Charter was draped and flowers placed for Oddfellows and Rebekahs who died this year. A tribute honored John Scott Earl Robinson and Hannah Carruthers for long service. A vocal duet “Gathering Flowers” was performed and Mizpah Benediction recited before lunch in the tower hall.

Glenboro Stockton War Memorial Saga in Gazette Report

The 1920 to 1921 Glenboro and Stockton communities raised funds and chose a memorial site unveiled June 1 1921 by Lt Gov Sir James Atkins. A June 2 Gazette excerpt calls the memorial a living beacon for duty and sacrifice while recent quiet moves to relocate it spark local questions about authority and necessity.

Venturers Launch Home Made Kayaks at Kiwanis Beach

Glenboro report: The Venturers' Troupe led by Bruce Christie and Barry Reilly unveiled three kayaks named Baron Snoopy III and Vanguard at Kiwanis Beach. The event marked the end of their winter project with a race, rides for attendees, and lunch of hot dogs and ice cream. Participants include Rick Cline Ross Drinkwater Jack Malyon Chris Oleson Sheldon Sveinson Randy Stevens Don Taylor and Billy Thompson.

Corrections issued for Tiger Hills Track Meet standings

Officials report reclassification corrections after multiple entries by girls. MS SA A rules prohibited cross classification entries, disqualifying subsequent scores. Boys events unchanged. Girls field events unchanged. Joy Peterson declared eligible in 60 yard dash primary. Shirley Dowd noted in 100 yard dash intermediate.

Glenboro Golf Club to Host Annual Men's Open

The Glenboro Golf and Country Club will hold its annual Men's Open Golf Tournament on Sunday, June 29 from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Lunches will be available at the clubhouse. Come out for golf action and a meal.
