Sparling, and various visits and community updates from Glenboro and surrounding areas. A large Three Ring Wild Animal Circus arrives June 28 with two performances.
A Friday garden party on Mrs Esplin's lawn hosted by the ladies of Sr Stephen's Church drew a large crowd. Flags and Chinese lanterns decorated the trees as refreshments were served and the young people formed groups for a merry evening. Miss Doig entertained with piano selections.
A large At Home in the C C F Hall honored Rev C A Blay as he leaves Glenboro after three years with St Stephen's Church. A purse of gold was presented, with residents expressing warm appreciation and wishing him future success. The evening featured music, elocution, recitations, games, and refreshments.
Miss Christina Campbell daughter of Mr and Mrs Alex Campbell Cypress River and Mr H L Rogers of Winnipeg were married at Church of Christ Winnipeg with Evangelist W F Neil officiating. Bridesmaid Miss Myra Campbell and groom's brother Mr F G Rogers assisted. After tea at H Whitelaw's home the couple left at 10 00 pm for the west for their honeymoon. Residence 505 Merrion Ave Fort Rouge. The Gazette extends congratulations.
A Thursday event at Mr Jerome Henty's farm drew crowds to enjoy a coats tournament won by Mrs Field and Mr Earl Freckleton over Miss Moon and Mr Joe Pollard. Tug of war, racing and football entertained attendees who gathered for tea under the trees and left in good spirits.
The notice urges residents to visit Glenboro on July 1 with horses cattle swine and poultry to enter competitions for prize money in various categories including manufacture and fine arts. It calls for active participation to make Glenboro a lively town and to secure a prize list from Mr W W Douglas.
