Glenboro Co-op reports 1981 savings at annual meeting
The Glenboro Co-op held its May 12 meeting at the Legion Hall with about 30 members. Mae Davidson presented the 1981 financials showing net savings of 51 204 dollars versus a 22 703 dollar loss the prior year. Four resolutions on savings distribution passed and the board size reduced from seven to five effective 1983. New directors elected Linda McPhail Daisy Steer and Bob Jewsbury was re elected. Lorne Robson praised Mae and staff and spoke on the FCL Calgary meeting. A gold ring was awarded for Mae’s 15 years service. Siggi Storm won a grocery hamper. The session closed with coffee donuts and musicians.

Glenboro Ladies Golf Tournament drew 47 players on Monday June 14. Pat Foote of Killarney won the Championship with 101, Florence Manning of Pilot Mound and Bernice Prederickson of Glenboro also placed. Players from Baldur and Stockton attended. next event set for August 9, 1982.

Kinette Club Marks 8th Anniversary in Glenboro
The Glenboro Kinette Club celebrates eight years since its charter on May 18 1974 and outlines a history of community service. Members supported the Kinsmen projects built the 1974 Community Hall and funded courses events and fundraisers. They donate to the Canadian Cancer Society UNI CEF and other groups and run drives for clothing distribution and youth camps. The annual focus includes CF fundraising and an International Relations Project with Panama in 1982.
