Torch Run Charities Aid Manitoba Special Olympics in Glenboro
Law enforcement volunteers from 17 agencies joined a 600 strong team for Manitoba Torch Run’s 1100 km two day event May 31 to June 1. Glenboro Mayor Lloyd Moore presented a 50 dollar cheque to Sergeant Lynn Mackenzie near the Cenotaph with Jody May from Glenboro School attending. The fundraiser expands fitness programs for the mentally handicapped in rural Manitoba and supports Special Olympics events at the University of Manitoba opening ceremonies and along seven routes across the province.

The run touched Cypress River and Glenboro as part of a 1500 km relay through 65 Manitoba communities, with Pool Elevators pledging 10 per elevator and the corporate office matching, totaling at least 500.
