The Wawanesa & District Memorial Health Centre held its annual meeting on May 11 1982 at Wawanesa Collegiate. Peter Derkach chairman reported opening of the Personal Care Home in August 1981 and announced the ambulance is ready to operate. The year showed an operating deficit as per the financial report by Mark Neskar.

Hospital Aid Sets Goals For Personal Care Home and Hospital
The Hospital Aid reports five regular and one special meeting with about ten attending and a membership of forty eight. They held Spring and Fall teas, bake and craft sales, an afghan raffle, and catering for the Mutual Staff Christmas party. Donations included tablecloths, a toaster, a polaroid camera and films, kitchen stools, canopy fund support, and dishes. The piano was tuned twice and a bath tub was donated to the hospital. Future plans include buying an IV stand on wheels two IV bed models and hospital ward curtains.
