The Village of Glenboro and R M South Cypress Fire Hall on Railway Avenue Glenboro will host an official opening on Saturday June 4 at 2 pm A demonstration of fire fighting equipment including the new fire truck will be led by officials from the Provincial Fire Commissioner's Office and local dignitaries A tour of the renovated building and coffee and donuts follow The Firemen's Ball at Kinsmen Community Hall runs 9 30 pm to 1 30 am with proceeds funding more equipment.

Prize lists for the 11th Cypress-Glenboro Exhibition show the event in Cypress River on July 29 and 30. Glenboro Canucks rout Aeros and Cubs in SCBL action
Glenboro Canucks won twice in SCBL play last week. They crushed Austins Aeros 11 to 0 at Austin with Ken Wertz pitching a one hitter over the full game, and followed with a 20 to 5 win at MacGregor aided by strong hitting led by Don Horton Darry Stevens and Harry Lalonde. Ron Wertz earned the win with relief from Jed Coates as the Canucks piled up 13.

Grants Awarded to Manitoba Agricultural Societies
Agricultural Minister Sam Askin announced grants totaling 177 149 for 46 Manitoba Agricultural Societies to build repair or improve facilities or jointly used community spaces. Fire department handles grass fire and warehouse aid
Glenboro South Cypress Fire department answered two calls on Sunday afternoon. The first was for a grass fire along 258 north of Glenboro near Spruceland Groceteria. While at the grass fire they assisted Cypress River Fire at Helgason and Arason's Garage on Railway Avenue Cypress River, where the building and contents sustained smoke and water damage.

Marlene Diehl, among 34 graduates in physical therapy, earned her degree at the University of Manitoba Convocation held Friday May 27 1977. She now works in the Misericordia General Hospital Winnipeg and is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Jim Diehl of Glenboro.
