Stockton Scouts Camp Ended After Pleasant Week

Sixteen boys joined the Stockton troop in a weeklong camping program despite heat. The group followed a strict routine of prayers, classes in first aid and signaling, plus daily outings to Bald headed Sandhills and local residences. Patrol leaders Milne Styan and Graham led, with V Hamilton scoring top in shooting and several boys passing the swimming test.

Obituary of Jas Barnsfield in Glenboro

Mr Jas Barnsfield died at Winnipeg Hospital last Sunday at 77 years 9 months. He lived in Glenboro about twenty years and worked as a machinist. Born in England he lived in Birmingham before emigrating. He leaves a widow. funeral at St Stephen's Church in Glenboro officiated by Rev Nelson Smith.

London July 21 Mr Lloyd George stated the 1917 18 food supply is secured and a cultivation plan is in place to ensure the next year's supply even if losses rise.

London reports Premier Lloyd George says Dr Michaelis speech signals annexation if Germany wins and a firmer military autocracy. He asserts Germany has chosen war and Britain will not concede until liberty is secured, noting Kerensky’s rise in Russia. The war is cast as a clash of national ideals.

Widow Receives Military Cross in Brandon

The widow of the late Lieut. J. A. Hamilton was presented with the Military Cross by Sir James Atkins the lieutenant governor of Manitoba at her Princess avenue home. Attending were Mrs. Hamilton Sir James Atkins Major Whillier and Capt. Drewry. The brief remarks by Sir James were highly touching and left a deep impression.

Naturalization Approved in County Court First 1914 Act Applicant

Judge Barrett presided at the County Court sitting on July 25. One judgment summons on the docket was settled before court opened. Harold Freeman of Cypress River applied for naturalization under the 1914 act, approved by His Honor. This marks the first naturalization application under the act.

Kleaboro School District No 512 Financial Statement 1917

The document lists receipts and expenditures for Kleaboro School District No 512 for the year ending July 1 1917. Receipts include balances from Northern Cr.
