Masquerade Carnival At Skating Rink Draws Crowds

A masquerade carnival held at the skating rink on Tuesday evening attracted many skaters and spectators. Frost Bite Costly For Somerset Farmer

John Hartley a farmer five miles north of Somerset lost the thumb and three fingers of his right hand to frost bite after a glove was torn from his hand. He searched briefly then returned home. blood poisoning followed and surgery amputated three fingers and the thumb. Sympathy runs high for a man who relies on farm work. The Ontario Government backs a new insurance scheme for agricultural fairs against wet weather losses, with a maximum payout of $300 per fair.
