Ted Ritzer naturalist at Spruce Woods Park spoke at the Glenboro Chamber meeting on January 21 describing winter adaptations and park facilities. He showcased a toboggan hill hiking trail skating pond snowshoe and cross country trails plus ice fishing and snowmobile routes with warming huts and snack options. Free camping sites with electrical outlets and overnight camp options were noted as well as winter museum maps frostbite guidance and guided tours on ski or snowmobile trails. The talk emphasized winter beauty and the park as a major regional attraction with facilities within two miles of the visitor center.

Manitoba Grants More Autonomy for School Bus Use
Education Minister Keith Cosens announced that Manitoba school divisions may operate buses on extracurricular trips outside the province without prior permission. The changes also allow flexible mandatory bus ridership training during each term, expanding safety programs and better use of facilities and staff. About 60,000 Manitoba children ride buses daily.
