The Manitoba Lotteries Foundation reports 1991 92 annual results and 1992 93 first and second quarter figures show VLT terminals recouping start-up costs and generating about six million dollars in year one. The figures were tabled in the Manitoba legislature today.
Positive response from both men and women to join the Tiger Hills Choir with fun in mind. Practices tentatively start in January, possibly in Holland, with one or more pianists. To join, call Barb Metcalf in Treherne, Kristine Janz in Baldur, or the Tiger Hills Arts Association office in Holland.
Al Bourrier of MHHC warns about Artificial Nest Structures installed across Southwest Manitoba wetlands under NAWMP by Ducks Unlimited Canada. The nests pose winter hazards to snowmobilers. travel around wetlands to protect marsh plants and machines. Contact Bourrier at the Killarney NAWMP office for details.
Tickets sold by Turf Club members and The Gazette remain available for the 200 Club draw. Prize entries include $50 to Jamiesons and Kovar of Glenboro and $100 to Phair and Burns of Pilot Mound. The next draw occurs January 23, 1993.
Families receiving federal Family Allowances must keep the TFA1 form for 1992 income tax returns. The December 1992 mailing replaces January 1993, as 1992 reports the Family Allowances payments and eligible children for the Child Tax Credit. Starting January 1993 the Child Tax Benefit replaces Family Allowances and child tax credits, with a new monthly tax free payment based on children, age, and income. A red check indicates a subscription due. GST inclusive rates are Local 14.98, within 40 miles 26.75, outside Canada 34.24.
