Cypress Team Faces Return Match At Home

The Cypress team aims to recover fortunes tonight in the return match at their home court. The Methods Ladies Aid Society hosts an At Home in Oddfellow's Hall next Monday evening the 27th with parlor games and a short programme. Ice cream cake sandwiches and coffee will be served with admission 24 cents. A humorous ranch notice warns against supporting the wife of a man named in a playful local quarrel. The Woman's Foreign Missionary Society held an open Methodist Church meeting with a fair turnout and a program of mission work led by President Mrs Moore. Readings were given by Mrs Armitage Rev J J Crookshanks and W T Shipley. a recitation by Mrs J P Shannon and solos by Mrs J W Morrow and Miss Alice Moore accompanied a liberal collection.

Third Annual Bachelors Ball Delights Large Attendance

The Monday evening event drew nearly one hundred couples with many visitors from Holland Cypress River Stockton Wawanesa Belmont and Baldur. Mr Wigston of Winnipeg supplied music and Mr Lyons of Winnipeg called the dances. Mrs Cline provided a fine lunch between program parts as dancing ran late into the night.

Glenboro Presbyterian Church Annual Meeting Report

The Glenboro Presbyterian Church held its annual meeting on Tuesday the 14th with Mr. Duncan in the chair. The session reported 100 members at year start, 31 joined, 1 removed, and listed year receipts of 1751.87 dollars with 1198.75 from envelopes and open collections, 256.61 from Ladies' Aid, 86.10 from WFM, and 236.41 from Sunday School. Officers elected: Secretary F. H. Mitchell, Treasurer Samuel Christie, Managers R. H. Ferguson and J. A. Locke, Ushers Truman Calder, B. Holden, Jno. McLean, Collectors P. Butchart and Jno. Steele.

Jubilee Singers Delight at Oddfellow Hall

The Virginia Colored Jubilee Singers performed an entertaining show to a small crowd. The choruses and quartets impressed, with Blair delivering a rich bass in tunes like Old Black Joe and I ve Gwine Back to Dixie. McKenzie and Lyons offered fine guitar and mandolin duets. Overall the company provided a good performance.
