Manitoba weekly press objects to liquor and institutional advertising bans under the present act. Publishers argue the law harms revenue and free press rights, urging amendments during the current legislative session.
About 80 rinks are expected to compete in the Glenboro annual bonspiel starting Monday February 17. Curlers hope for cooperative weather and a good curling week with a Tuesday Smoker for reminiscences. Entries include a Cavalier North Dakota rink led by Jake Erlendson and plans for the Argue Brothers to return. Don Burgess Cypress River misses this year due to illness.
