Glenboro students hosted MS Read-A-Thon coordinator Barb Pettit at a grades 1-6 assembly to promote literacy, educate about multiple sclerosis, and raise research funds. Volunteers simulated MS symptoms by wearing glasses, mitts, and ankle weights to illustrate challenges.

Australian student braves Manitoba cold in Glenboro
Natasha Williams, an Australian exchange student, arrived in Glenboro in late January and faced 24 to 34 below temperatures. She explored Spruce Woods Park and watched hockey and curling, while living with Pete and Evelyn Ginter and attending Glenboro Collegiate High School.

Handi Van fund drive aims for one big fundraiser
The Glenboro Handi-Van Committee launches a single large fundraiser to buy a new van. Fifteen hundred tickets at $100 each go on sale February 10 with a grand prize draw offering a choice of a 1997 Valmet tractor or $60,000 cash. Winners announced July 1 at the Glenboro Agricultural Fair with a Winnipeg weekend prize for the seller.
