Jam Pail opens Spruce Woods Park winter sports area
A brief ceremony at the Winter Sports Area in Spruce Woods Park on Saturday February 6 officially opened the site. Henry Carroll MLA Brandon West Len Evans, Witherspoon and Mooney offered greetings and threw the first rocks. The area includes a hockey rink skating trail pond and four sheets of ice.

Schmockey Benefits Cystic Fibrosis Event In Glenboro
The Kinsmen Club of Glenboro hosted a Schmockey Afternoon Program at Glenboro Arena on February 7 1982 to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis. The event featured Figure Skating Club demonstrations led by Cathy Horbas, a 12 & Under vs Dads hockey match which the boys won 6 to 5, and a broomball game where the Kinsmen defeated the Liniment League Rovers 1 to 0.
