Dr. Pol Morton spoke at the Raystone Centre in Glenboro on January 30 about living wills. He urged shared responsibility in life and death health care decisions, saying doctors should no longer make all choices alone.
A moose was spotted along No 5 Highway about half a mile north of Glenboro by Rosalie Sigurdson on Wednesday morning January 31. Other travelers saw it as well with a two person half ton truck turning back for a closer look. In health notes Morton discusses living wills under the Healthcare Directives Act, showing how such documents state treatment preferences when a patient cannot speak for themselves.
Glenboro Community Development Corporation members met January 31 at Kinsmen Community Hall for their 5th annual gathering. Reverend Ivan Smith offered a blessing and acknowledged the death of Norbert Vanwynsberghe. Ed Bedford and Earl Malyon welcomed attendees from local government. The Theatre Committee report noted approval of an $18,500 upgrade for Glenboro Gaiety Theatre including $7,000 Manitoba Community Services grant and $11,500 local funding split among Village of Glenboro South Cypress Argyle and CDC. The balance will be raised via fund drives.
