They seek support for homegrown industries and expanded port hours in summer.

Effective March 1 the new validation strips must be on rear licence plates. About 420000 renewal forms were mailed early in January to Manitoba vehicle owners. Outside Winnipeg renewals may be by mail or at agencies province wide. An estimated 435000 vehicles will be registered in Manitoba this year. The 1969 strips are black with yellow characters.
Glenboro Arena hosts Family Night on Saturday February 8 featuring figure skating minor hockey and an ice ball for all ages. The Glenboro Figure Skating Club sponsors the evening promising fun for everyone.
Garry Dowd of Glenboro and his rink Greg Carell Sherrie Mooney and Garry McKay claimed top honors at the Holland Agricultural Area 4-H Bonspiel in Glenboro on Saturday February 1 with 16 rinks competing. Robert Wheeler Treherne took second with Grant Turnbull Shirley Wittevrongel and Allen Henderson. Robert Zeghers Holland led the second event with Rickey Sundell Sheila Barker and Robert Dyck. Greg King Cypress River finished runner up.
Gordon Riach, chairman, announced the March appeal objective of 450,935 dollars. United Way of Greater Winnipeg pledges 327,600, United Appeals at Brandon, Altona, Morden and Winkler 20,500, leaving 102,835 to raise in the rest of Manitoba. The goal is slightly higher than last year despite rising costs and more activities in 11 Red Cross services.
Manitoba invites former residents to return for a year of events in 1970 marking the province’s 100th birthday. A statewide campaign led by Burt A.
