The Winnipeg Free Press notes James Dale’s immigration work and a fatal mine accident near Rossland, B C affecting the Ashley family.
The death occurred Sunday morning at the home of Mr A Snyder. Old Mr M G Snyder had endured a long illness and stroke years earlier. The funeral was at Glenboro Cemetery led by Rev R E Spence. Born August 1823 in Williamsburg Dundas Ontario he was 79 or 80. He leaves two sons and three daughters. Pallbearers named Duncan Milner Sampson Card Moore and Cline.
Walter Field and Mrs. Parkinson recover while Angus mends. Jno Foster leaves for Arcola. Misses White and Preston visit Mrs. Turnbull in Stockton. Winnipeg trips and hockey injuries noted. several residents head to the Winnipeg bonspiel. Two English guests stay at the hotel before continuing on.
George Davidson aged 34 dies after a severe cold contracted last spring. He leaves a wife and five young children. Funeral held Saturday afternoon at Glenwolve cemetery.
