Glenboro Credit Union Advances Annual Meeting Progress
The Glenboro Community Credit Union held its annual meeting on Tuesday January 27 with 65 members present. Ben Johnson reported solid progress since May 1969 and projected a stronger 1970. directors Elmer Johnson Earl Malyon Chas Steer John Thomson Duncan McKay Jim Gowanlock Ben Johnson were elected for three-year terms. A credit committee A L Clarke Mike Okolita Glen Witherspoon and others were chosen. supervisor committee member Lorne Patterson joins with F S Presunka and Fred Anderson. Bar Williams noted a $50 000 asset increase aided by chequing and deposits. Vaughan Baird QC of Winnipeg spoke on his Iron Curtain visits as a Canadian Olympic diver.

Rock Lake Camp Reports 1969 Season and Plans for 1976
The Rock Lake Camp Board reviewed the 1969 summer with 470 children ages 7 to 15 attended between June 26 and August 16. 109 leaders helped, with emphasis on new programs including archery horseback riding canoeing and Bible study. Total expenses were 9546.41 funded by camper fees and 2142 from churches and groups. Plans include a five day leadership training Camp-On-Wheels in March to Minneapolis and a centennial 1976 celebration as the camp enters its 73rd year of operation.

Power Toboggan Trails Open in Spruce Woods
The Spruce Woods Provincial Park launches 20 miles of designated power toboggan trails on the south side of the Assiniboine River. Tourism Minister Peter Burtniak announced the new recreation area with a day use campground staging point and shelter. The trails are marked by the parks department and accessible via PA 258, less than 100 miles from Winnipeg and about 45 miles from Brandon. Gas and oil sales are not yet available.
