Glenboro Chamber Holds Final Meeting of the Year

The Glenboro Chamber of Commerce wraps up the year with Reg. C. Rawlings presiding at the rink club room. Plans include a January ice carnival sponsorship, a carnival queen candidate, social night for 4 H clubs, and discussions on backyard rinks and a public meeting in the hall. The annual meeting is planned for January with a dinner in the Glenboro Hotel.

Kil karney Kiwanis members tour Senior Citizens Home

Ten members attended the Kil karney Kiwanis club meeting last Friday evening and toured the new Senior Citizens Home at Killarney. Rev. Cecil Rothery spoke on mental health at dinner, with a Christmas party planned and Open House hosted by President Harold Curll and his wife for all Kiwanians.

Glenboro Baby Band Xmas Party Highlights

Forty five mothers and pre schoolers attended the Glenboro United Church Baby Band Christmas party on December 6. New members joined, gift money boxes totaled 35 dollars, and special guests Mr. Norman Williams and kindergarten classes performed in western attire. Santa distributed gifts, lunch followed, and future gift boxes were planned to encourage sharing. The Baby Band supports missionary education through the Woman's Missionary Society with 1956 gift boxes totaling 16500 for various fields including India Trinidad BC Canada Africa Tokyo Korea and Hong Kong with Glenboro contributions rising from 29 to 35 dollars the next year may bring more.

Piano Students Christmas Party Held at Mrs Elliott's

Mrs. Doug Elliott hosted the piano students of Mrs. G. N. Mc Leod for a Christmas party on Friday December 13. A decorated tree, student performances, and games followed a program with gifts given to Mrs. Elliott. Instead of exchanging gifts, the group contributed six dollars to a Canadian Save fund.

Combined Choirs Present Christmas Cantata in Glenboro

In Glenboro United Church on Sunday December 15 the combined choirs of the Lutheran and United Churches under Mrs J Rutherford presented the cantata Music of Christmas by Ira B Wilson to a capacity congregation. Organist Lorne Patterson narrator F M Ferg. Solo parts by Mrs J Tureski S Arason Miss Margaret Curll and Miss Lynne Sanderson.

Glenboro Merchants Extend Evening Hours for Holidays

Glenboro businesses announce extended shopping hours for Christmas season. From December 18 to 24 stores offer after dark openings with varied closing times and a preholiday early close on December 24. Beginning December 28 stores will close at 9 p.m. daily through spring.
