Health officials report outbreaks of a non influenza gastrointestinal illness in Manitoba since October, mainly in personal care homes with two hospital cases. Key symptoms include vomiting and diarrhea with dehydration possible. Control focuses on hygiene, cleaning and avoiding work while ill.
Pembina Valley RCMP respond to a two vehicle collision on Highway 2 one mile east of Cypress River. An eastbound cargo truck crossed the center line and struck a westbound car head on. The car occupants, brothers from Manitou, were extricated. driver is in critical condition in Winnipeg and the passenger in stable condition in Brandon. The cargo driver was unhurt. No alcohol or road conditions were factors. RCMP investigating with possible charges.
Agricore United took down the Agricore signs from the North and East sides of the Glenboro grain terminal on December 12. The Glenboro elevator was permanently closed on November 26, ending its era of use in the village. Deadline for the next Gazette edition is Wednesday at 12 noon.
