The 1977 Glenboro Santa Claus Parade travels from the school grounds at 1 p.m. along a defined route ending near the Gaiety Theatre. Sponsor Kinsmen Club invites floats contact Bruce Anderson at 827-2303. Candy for children, 2:30 p.m. show at the theatre. Santa and clowns visit local senior homes and hospital.

4 H Beef and Pony Club updates in Glenboro and area

The Glenboro Light Horse and Pony Club reorganizes with 11 members led by Kevin Johnson who attends the Junior Youth Conference in Brandon and serves as district council delegate. Leaders include Gordon Johnson Jim Rolfe Ken Northey and Ken Dalgliesh. Beef Club talks of 15 members meeting plans and calf weighing and tagging. Local contact Ken Dowd and Gerald Olmstead noted for Carberry and Douglas clubs with ongoing efforts to keep groups active and next meetings announced.

Legion backs national unity plan in three phase program

The Royal Canadian Legion executive council approved a three phase plan to mobilize its 500000 members for national unity. Phase one informs members via Legion Magazine, phase two seeks an amending formula and language rights, and phase three sends a province wide task force to discuss unity factors.

Stockton Ladies Aid 1977 Report Summary

The Stockton United Church Ladies Aid reports a nine member two group system with seven average weekly attendees and six monthly meetings. Activities included bibles for Glenboro United Church, a church photo presentation, spring tea bazaar and plant sale, Quarter Horse Show lunches, wedding anniversary meals, a Fowl Supper, two funeral lunches, two showers plus a third church basement shower, and a turkey dinner for seniors. The group notes many gifts and a successful year with best wishes for 1978.

Bob Christie outlines a drive to buy land in Glenboro owned by O Olafson for a Centennial Park. The plan includes a possible Glenboro Camel miniature golf, camping, a future museum site, and green spaces. Fundraising meetings will be organized. contact Christie or John Coates after 6 pm to join.
