Mirage of risk payments channeled through NISA eyed by farmers
Agriculture Minister Lyle Vanclief announced a 600 million risk management fund this year and Keystone Agricultural Producers questions the plan to deposit the money into NISA accounts. They fear delays in triggering withdrawals and administrative backlogs for 150 000 farmers, preferring direct cheques based on ENS. The payment equals 4.25 percent of five year average Eligible Net Sales with December 31 for new NISA accounts.

The Prairie Zone Championship in Saskatoon crowned the Under 15 Prince Philip Games team from Manitoba first, earning a trip to Vancouver for nationals. The 22 nd annual Terry Fox Run is set for Sunday September 15 2002 across Canada with a Glenboro event from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Glenboro School. Pledge sheets are available locally and participants receive a hot dog and drink courtesy of the Glenboro Co op and Spruce Lakes Recreation District.
