Old-Fashioned Picnic at Criddle-Vane Homestead Planned

The Criddle-Vane Homestead Heritage Committee plans an old fashioned picnic on Sunday September 1 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Criddle-Vane site off Hwy 340 between Shilo and Wawanesa. Bring a picnic and blanket for boot and shoe races tours of the Bug House and other activities. Donations welcome to support stabilization and restoration of historic buildings and interpretation on the site.

Vanclief outlines 600 million risk funding formula for farmers

Agriculture Minister Vanclief announces that Canada will distribute 600 million dollars in risk management funding using farmers ENS. Payments to NISA accounts equal 4.25 percent of five-year ENS, with eligible net sales defined for crops and livestock. Eligible producers without NISA can apply by December 31.
