Record Crowd Attends Glenboro Race Meet
The twenty ninth and thirtieth days of racing in the Manitoba Great Western Racing Circuit were held in Glenboro on August 14 and 15. A record crowd attended Sunday and wagers neared 48000 dollars while Saturday pari mutuel handle topped 35000 dollars. Lady Canada and Buddy Direct each paced a 2:07 mile to win along with numerous other winners. Weather caused a one hour delay Sunday. J. David Mooney commentated both days.

Outhwaite Family Marks Golden Anniversary Reunion
Mr and Mrs Arden Outhwaite of Stockton celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on August 3 1982. A family reunion for about eighty relatives followed on August 1 at Spruce Woods Park with Arden and Vyvian Calverley married in 1932 and farming near Stockton along the Assiniboine. They have five children nineteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. June could not attend.
