The Tiger Hills School Division approves a proposed Use of Schools policy. Fees will be nominal and cover lighting and cleaning costs. A three member committee plus the superintendent reviewed the plan and the policy remains flexible until final board approval.
Postmaster Ken Wells leaves for Souris August 18 as Glenboro's post office enters a 3 to 4 week Canada Post review. Data gathering will assess mail volume costs and market location to decide whether to re staff or convert to a retail outlet. No public meetings planned. The Glenboro office originated in 1886 on the Duncan farm and moved to its current building in 1954.
The annual Pine Fort Days celebration unfolds this weekend at Spruce Woods Provincial Park. The event highlights early fur trade pioneers and their links to the Assiniboine River area with displays and activities designed for family fun.
The Glenboro Community Hall hosts an antiques and collectibles show and sale from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday August 16. Vendors from Winnipeg and nearby towns bring over 30 tables of items for display or sale, including two sports cards dealers. Admission is $1 with free entry for under five. lunch available.
