Plans Begin for 75th Ag Fair in Gienboro This Summer

Initial plans for the 75th anniversary Ag Fair in Gienboro outline a two day event July 27 and 28. A parade opening with speeches, then afternoon sports and an evening concert on day one. day two features the agricultural exhibition judging and 4-H calf sales. Volunteers are sought to staff Feir Grounds, repair fences, and re shingle the agricultural hall built in 1913 by Dud Cline.

Village Council Passes By law Reading Frontage Road Plan

Glenboro Village Council met in a special session on April 11 to give first reading to By law No 228 for town planning. The council passed a resolution requesting a frontage road built east to west along No 2 Highway with approaches at the east and west limits and Lyall Street as approved verbally by the highway traffic coordination board.

Winnipeg Residents Attend Easter Weekend Gatherings

Patricia McFadden and family visited her Winnipeg relatives over Easter. Patricia Ladies Aid met at Mrs. Ivan Drinkwater’s home with nine members and two visitors, tying one quilt for the Red Cross and planning a float for the 75th Fair Parade in July. Len Jackson and family spent Easter with Harold Jackson, then Len left for The Pas for about four months. Mr. and Mrs. W. Ringrose and Mona, of Winnipeg, spent the weekend with Buster Lalonde’s family.

Easter visits fill district homes with family gatherings

Stockton mily of Winnipeg and Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Redpath and family of Ma ther visited with Mrs. Allan Suth erland over the Easter weekend. Melody and Cheryl remained for the Easter holiday week with their grandmother. Mr. and Mrs. Brock Perry and Candice of Estevan Sask and Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Farough and family of Winnipeg were Easter visitors at the R. J. Farough home. Misses Carol Barr and Sandra Graham of Winnipeg visited their parental homes over Easter weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Brown and family of Dauphin arrived on Easter Friday to spend Easter with the K. O. Brown and Jim Leader families in the district. On Thursday evening April 7 Mrs. Lloyd Smith held a pre festival recital at her home.
