Tiger Hills Budget Finalized by School Division Trustees

The Tiger Hills School Division No. 29 finalized the 1976 budget with estimated expenditures of 2,602,850 dollars and a required special levy of 985,536 dollars. One mill yields about 20,684 dollars. The 1975 levy was about 39 mills. The 1976 budget, excluding capital costs, rises by just under 122 compared with 1975. Curling Clubs Name Champs and Wind-Up Plans

Bruce Anderson’s rink won the Men’s Evening TM Club championship with a last rock tap back to edge Wes Brown’s rink. The Men’s Afternoon champion is Frank Malyon’s team, and Ruth Barr repeated as Ladies winner. Seniors crowned Bert Coates’s rink, with Jack Chewings narrowly taking second in the second event. A wind-up is set for April 17 with trophy case improvements underway.

Nordics Beat Rockets 8-1 In Final Likely To Tie Series

Nordics defeated short handed Rockets 8 to 1 on March 30 with Greg scoring four goals Ken adding two goals and two assists. Janz and Vincent also netted for Glenboro while Holland goalie Laurie Oliver kept the Rockets at bay. Series tied two games each as trophy location remains undecided.

Johnsons Celebrate Golden Wedding at Glenboro Event

Mr and Mrs B K Johnson mark their 50th wedding anniversary on March 27 1976 at Glenboro Kinsmen Community Hall. Over 200 guests attended with Master of Ceremonies Tom Oleson reading messages from dignitaries and community groups. The evening included a beef supper danced to the Royal Canadians and tributes from family and friends.

Grand Opening of Glenboro Co operat ive Home and Agro Centre

Glenboro Consumers Co operative announces grand opening of its new Home and Agro Centre on Thursday April 8 at 1 pm. The store on Broadway replaces the former Farm Supply Store and will stock floor coverings lumber hardware petroleum and home entertainment items. Manager Bob Longmire invites community attendance with coffee and a door prize. Glenboro Homemakers met March 24 at the school and selected white T shirts green scarves for the display and reminded committees of duties for Achievement.

Glenboro Community Development Corp Annual Meeting

The Glenboro Community Development Corporation Ltd will hold its annual meeting after a dinner in the 1.C.C.F. Hall on Friday April 9. Shareholders may vote while other interested persons may attend. Roy Brown of Brandon will address the meeting. Officers for the coming year will be elected and the theatre's future discussed. Call Roy Wallis or Stan Oleson to confirm attendance.

Thornborough Wins Glenboro Spring Bonspiel

J Thornborough of Brandon skip led Murray Coates Cathy Gillis and Les Hoad to victory in the Glenboro spring curling bonspiel final against Don Barr and his team. Stan Oleson and Fred Jackson earned third place in two other events. Morley Cullen and Ross Dowd placed third and fourth in the final event. The entry featured strong curling across divisions.
